Tool making has long been one of the core traditions of blacksmithing. Over the past several years, the blacksmiths at Heritage Forge have developed a line of heirloom hand-forged axes, woodworking tools and gardening tools that are as attractive as they are effective.
Axes
All of our axes are forged in the traditional manner, starting with low carbon steel for the body and forge-welding in a wedge of high carbon steel for the edge. This process creates a blade with a hard cutting surface that holds a sharp edge well, while leaving the body of the tool softer to allow for better shock absorption.
